Mobile Business Marketing Trends and Relationship-Building

Mobile Business Marketing Trends and Relationship-Building

A recent online survey found that while mobile business marketing trends are gaining in popularity, only 33% of companies currently have a mobile marketing strategy. One of the biggest upsides of mobile marketing is its effectiveness as a relationship-building tool.

The monetization of mobile marketing has been slow to take off, but there are still many opportunities to leverage apps to deliver tools, content and brand messages that can indirectly result in increased sales. This focus on relationship-building can explain the most popular content types in mobile marketing today, which include social networking, branded content distribution, email capabilities, geo-location/maps and general references. The survey revealed that the iPhone is the dominant platform for mobile apps, with nearly 75% of companies developing iPhone apps. Yet Android and iPad apps are expected to see the strongest growth over the next year.
